A paper detailing work on direct enrichment of a perchlorate-reducing community for use in a bioelectrochemical system was recently published in the Journal of Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology (Society for Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology). Titled "Direct enrichment of perchlorate reducing microbial community for efficient electroactive perchlorate reduction in biocathodes", the paper was authored by then BEEL research engineer Maren Mieseler, graduate researcher Mays Atiyeh, and Dr. Farrukh Ahmad with the collaboration of Dr. Hector Hernandez (MECEL).
